When pet deposits have soaked past the carpet into the padding under the carpet and sub-floor.
When a pet urinates on the carpet frequently in the same area that urination will seep down through the carpet and embed itself into the padding underneath. It will then dry up and crystallize itself within the padding. That is what creates the pungent smell that just seems to linger.
Once that happens it is very difficult to extract without the SUB-SURFACE process.
Complete saturation of the affected areas, with gallons of solution is required (cannot use this process on 2nd, 3rd floors etc...). This saturation completely surrounds the carpet’s backing, padding, and sub-floor. The solution breaks down pet urine crystals in preparation for extraction and rinsing.
A specialty extraction tool designed to flush out the solution and animal waste from your carpets is used to at each spot that we have saturated. This method typically has a very high success rate but again, must be done only on 1st levels because that much water will cause a serious roof leak for anyone below.
